To God be the glory

As I Lay Me Down To Sleep

As the closing embers of the day

Slowly fade away
Into the darkness of the night

To replace  the greater light
It is then the moon and stars appear

Showing that my God is there
Watching over me
As I lay me down to sleep

From the rising of the sun

To the setting of the same
I pray that You’ll be there

When I all upon Your name
Where can I go to hide from Thee

On this earth or in the sea
You are always there to comfort me

As I lay me down to sleep

As I lay me down to sleep

I pray that You will keep
Me in Your tender care

Until I awake
But if I die before I do

I commend my soul to You
To reclaim as Your own

Until You call me home

When my life on earth is over

And I pass away someday
Into the darkness of the grave

I will slip away
Until Jesus Christ my Shepherd comes

To gather in His sheep
I will rest in peace

When He lays me down to sleep

As I lay me down to sleep

I pray that You will keep
Me in Your tender care

Until I awake
But if I die before I do

I commend my soul to You
To reclaim as Your own

Until You call me home

As the closing embers of my life

Slowly fade away
Into the darkness of the night

To await the greater light
It is then my trials will disappear

Knowing that my God is there
Watching over me

As I lay me down to sleep
He is watching over me

As I lay me down to sleep
