To God be the glory

Forever In My Heart

I found a poem that my father wrote in 1948

That was written to my mother

When they began to date

And as I read the words he wrote to her

My tears began to fall

Because I knew that in his heart of hearts

He loved her most of all

Through the joy and through the laughter

Through the pain and through the tears

Through the good times and the bad times

That we've shared throughout the years

And as I look back through the ages

I remember mom and dad

And I will tell you in this song I sing

What my father said

Though the miles have come between us

Dear, I want you now to know

That you will always be a part of me

Because I love you Flo

I am sorry that I had to leave

And now that we're apart

You will always be with me my love

Forever in my heart

I want to show you that I love you

More than anyone I know

And I hope you will depend on me

To be here for you Flo

And I will ask the LORD in heaven

Every time I pray

To bless and keep you in His care

Until our wedding day

But if you find another

And he proves to be untrue

You know that you can count on me

I'll be waiting here for you

So if you're feeling lonely love

Pick up the phone and call

And I will meet you at the station

When the train rolls through Grand falls

It is there that I will love you

And you will never be alone

And we will be so happy

In our little country home

And maybe in a year or two

We can start a family

And have a curly headed baby boy

Who looks a lot like me

Or maybe God will bless us

With a girl who looks like you

With brown hair like her mother

And a heart that's warm and true

And if your mom and dad are willing

And with me you want to be

Then say farewell to old St John's

And come and marry me

Though the miles have come between us

Dear, I want you now to know

That you will always be a part of me

Because I love you Flo

I am sorry that I had to leave

And now that we're apart

You will always be with me my love

Forever in my heart

Forever in my heart
