Betrayed

To hear the rooster crow at dawn

Reminds me of my Savior's song
Who gave His life on Calvary

To set His people free

From the wages and the curse of sin

That YAHWEH chose to lay on Him
To make atonement for the sins

Of all humanity

In the garden of Gethsemane

The Lamb of God was there to see
The one who would deny Him

And betray Him with a kiss

Repent repent you guilty knave

Come see the One you have betrayed
To satisfy the devil’s lie

You crucified your Savior

They brought Him before Pilate's throne

Scorned and bleeding to the bone
They stripped Him of His dignity

For all the world to see

And as He hung there on that tree

Yeshua thought of you and me
Forgive them for the wrongs they do

For they know not what they do

They laid Him in a virgin tomb

And sealed the entrance with a stone

As Roman guards stood watch that night

To make sure He was there

When Mary came to see the grave

The stone she found was rolled away
The angels told her on that day

He had risen and was gone

But when the Savior did appear

To those who had been gathered there
His disciples were afraid

To see Him on that day

But soon their fear was turned to joy

When they saw Him rising in the sky
Ascending in the clouds on high

In the presence of His Father

Yeshua will return again

To take His people home with Him
On resurrection day

We will hear our Savior say

Arise arise you from the grave

Come see the One who was betrayed
To satisfy the devil’s lie
