To God be the glory

As Red As Your Own

We were created, as children of God

Now excuse me for asking, but you're not from here

Your voice it sounds different, your words are not clear

I can tell by your accent, you're not from my land

Your manner of speech sir, I can't understand

Your manner of speech sir, I can't understand

There's no other person that sounds just like you

There's no one that sounds just like me, yes it's true

We're all very different, yet still much the same

Respect me for my tongue, and I'll do the same

Respect me for my tongue, and I'll do the same

We eat when we're hungry, we drink when we're dry

We laugh when we're happy, in sad times we cry

We long to feel needed, not left all alone

If you cut me, my blood runs as red as your own

If you cut me, my blood runs as red as your own

We were created, in the image of God

I can't help but notice the clothes that you wear

They're so different from my clothes, the cut of your hair

And your skin is as different from mine as can be

Some say we're not equal, but I disagree

Some say we're not equal, but I disagree

There's no other person that looks just like you

There's no one that looks just like me, yes it's true

We're all very different, yet still much the same

Respect me for my looks, and I'll do the same

Respect me for my looks, and I'll do the same

We eat when we're hungry, we drink when we're dry

We laugh when we're happy, in sad times we cry

We long to feel needed, not left all alone

If you cut me, my blood runs as red as your own

If you cut me, my blood runs as red as your own

We were created, to worship our God

Our worth is not measured by the colour of our skin

It comes from the LORD, if our faith is in Him

Just look at creation and then you will see

God made us all different just like you and me

God made us all different just like you and me

There's no other person that lives just like you

There's no one that lives just like me, yes it's true

We're all very different, yet still much the same

Respect me for my life, and I'll do the same

Respect me for my life, and I'll do the same

We eat when we're hungry, we drink when we're dry

We laugh when we're happy, in sad times we cry

We long to feel needed, not left all alone

If you cut me, my blood runs as red as your own

If you cut me, my blood runs as red as your own

We were created, as children of God
