A Time For Every Purpose
There are tears of sorrow in my eyes today
For the one who gave me life has passed away
But through the tears and pain, I know we'll meet again
When Jesus comes on resurrection day
There's a time for sorrow and a time for joy
There's a time to be born, and a time to die
There's a time to mourn, and a time to dance
And a time for every purpose under heaven
There was beauty, love and grace, in my dear mother's face
And I remember how she made me smile
Now God has called her name, but I know we'll meet again
I will only miss her for a little while
There's a time for sorrow and a time for joy
There's a time to laugh, and a time to weep
There's a time to lose, and a time to keep
To everything there is a season
When Jesus came to Bethany, Lazarus was dead
And resting in the grave when He arrived
And while their brother slept, those who loved him wept
And when He saw their sorrow, Jesus cried
There's a time for sorrow and a time for joy
There's a time to keep silent, and a time to speak
There's a time to heal, and to cast away stones
And a time, to gather stones together
Then Martha said to Jesus, LORD if You were here
Our brother who You loved would not have died
Then Jesus called his name, and Lazarus rose again
And He turned their time of sorrow into joy
There's a time for sorrow and a time for joy
There's a time for war, and a time for peace
There's a time to rise, and a time to sleep
And a time for every purpose under heaven
There are tears of sorrow in my eyes today
For the one who gave me life has passed away
But through the tears and pain, I know we'll meet again
When Jesus comes on resurrection day
There's a time for sorrow and a time for joy
There's a time to love, and a time to hate
There's a time to plant, and a time to reap
And a time for every purpose under heaven
There's a time for sorrow and a time for joy
There's a time to be born, and a time to die
There's a time to mourn, and a time to dance
To everything there is a season
There's a time to mourn, and a time to dance
And a time for every purpose under heaven
