The Lamb Of God
He was born in Bethlehem
In a manger He was found
By shepherds on that day
O Mary did you understand
That your baby boy was born to be
The Lamb that God would slay
Perhaps you never knew
What your Son would
Have to go through
If you had known
Could you have borne the pain
He grew up in Nazareth
With every step He took
He became a man
And a carpenter like Joseph
Such a humble Man indeed
The one His Father chose
To save the world
Mary did you realize
The price that He would pay
When you followed Him
To Calvary, on crucifixion day
Did you know the Lamb of God
Would give His life to set you free
And be lifted up
For all the world to see
He was found in Galilee
Where He healed the lame
And raised the dead
And set the captives free
And He was known by many
To proclaim the Word of God
When He told them
Of His mercy and His love
He was scourged and ridiculed
Rejected and abandoned
By those He came to save
And for the sake of heaven
The Lamb was crucified
To make atonement
For our sins He died
Jesus, did they realize
The price that You would pay
When they followed You
To Calvary on crucifixion day
Did they know the Lamb of God
Would give His life to set them free
And be lifted up for all the world to see
He was wounded for my sins
By nails that pierced His hands and feet
And thorns that pierced His brow
And when His life was over
A soldier pierced His side
And out came blood and water
Flowing like a crimson tide
He was buried in a tomb
The one prepared by Joseph to be his own
And on resurrection morning
The grave would be denied
When He rose again
And rolled away the stone
Jesus, did they realize
The price that You would pay
When they followed You
To Calvary on crucifixion day
Did they know the Lamb of God
Would shed His blood to set them free
And be lifted up for all the world to see
He was born in Bethlehem
In a manger He was found
By shepherds on that day
O Mary did you understand
That your baby boy was born to be
The Lamb that God would slay
On Calvary
