I'm Not Good At Building Bridges
I'm not good at building bridges, but I know I'd like to try
To make amends for every wrong I've done
And I know that if you love me, we can cross that great divide
And build a bridge to heaven, now my son
I keep your letter in my Bible, that you wrote so long ago
To remind me of the man I used to be
And though the miles have come between us
And the years have come and gone
You have always been here, here in my heart with me
When I look back on my life son, I know my daddy tried
To do the best that he could do for me
But I did not understand his pain, until after he had died
But by then it was to late, for me to see
I'm not good at building bridges, but I know I'd like to try
To make amends for every wrong I've done
And I know that if you love me, we can cross that great divide
And build a bridge to heaven, now my son
I have come to know my Saviour, and Jesus is His name
I have come to know His Father's will for me
And I have come to know my enemy
Who has caused me so much pain
But by the grace of God, He came to set me free
Now I fell the need to tell you, that I love you more each day
And to let you know that Jesus loves you too
And may the good LORD bless and keep you safe
Until we meet again
And may His holy Spirit, guide and comfort you
I'm not good at building bridges, but I know I'd like to try
To make amends for every wrong I've done
And I know that if you love me, we can cross that great divide
And build a bridge to heaven, now my son
Help me build a bridge to heaven, now my son
