Forgiven

My life on earth will someday pass
But what I have in Christ will last

Long after I have said goodbye

To this world forever

Soon I will be going home

Where I'll never live alone

In the kingdom of my Father

And my Savior Jesus Christ

He bore the cross on Calvary

To ransom sinners just like me

He gave His life to set me free

So that I can be redeemed

From the wages of my sin and shame

He came to bear my guilt and pain

And when I called upon His name

Jesus said to me

You are like the thief upon the cross

Who knew that day that he was lost

Until I said,  you will be with Me in heaven

I thank You LORD for loving me

In spite of my iniquity

For now I know that I have been forgiven

For everything I've said and done

Against my Father and His Son

Is written in His book of life

And covered by His blood

Where would I be if not for Thee

And for the cross on Calvary

That Jesus bore for those like me

To show His Father's love

Now the only way to paradise

Is through the blood of Jesus Christ

Who was His Father's only choice

To redeem the world from sin

And now I understand God's plan

To sacrifice His only Lamb

So that we can have eternal life

When Jesus comes again

You are like the thief upon the cross
