On This Day

On this day, we are gathered here to celebrate your love

As you become one

United by the grace of God that flows from heaven's throne

Standing on the promises of Jesus Christ alone

On this day, we are witnessing the Father's will for you

In this mystery of life

When two hearts beat in unison as one

In the presence of almighty God we come, on this day

On this day, I have come here willingly to say I do

In the presence of the King

I will honour you with all I have and take you as my own

I dedicate my life to you and Jesus Christ alone

On this day, I promise to be faithful to you

In all I say and do

I will do it for the glory of the Son

In the presence of almighty God I come

On this day

As God is my witness I promise you now

That I will be faithful and true

In good times and bad times, in happy and sad times

I will always love you, I do

On this day, I thank the LORD for giving you to me

To have and to hold

United as a family forever in this life

And loving together, as husband and wife

On this day, with those who are here we rejoice

And thank the LORD above

For the knowledge of who we are in Christ

May we always be thankful and rejoice
