Until He's Finally Home
He stands by the wheelhouse and looks at the sky
There's rain on the harbour, there's rain in his eyes
As he thinks of his woman, she waits on the quay
And he won't stop, until he's home
He's fished for a full week with nothing to show
Like so many others, he'll soon have to go
To work at whatever in Ontario
But he won't stop, until he's home
What will they do if the fish are all gone
What will it mean to their daughters and sons
I know I must go and I must not delay
For the reason I leave is the reason I'd stay
But with your love to guide me I'm never alone
And I won't stop, until I'm home
Now he's up in the morning and out on the road
With Steven and Darren, they're all gonna go
To B.C., or Alberta, or to Ontario
But they won't stop, until they're home
If home's where the heart is, then his isn't here
You can't drink the water, you can't breath the air
But the money is good and the bankers don't care
So he won't stop, until he's home
I know I must go and I must not delay
For the reason I leave is the reason I'd stay
But with your love to guide me I'm never alone
And I won't stop, until I'm home
He sits in the bunkhouse and stares at the sky
There's rain on the window, there's rain in his eyes
As he thinks of his woman, she waits by the quay
And she won't stop, until he's home
Until he's home, until he's home
Until he's finally home
