To God be the glory

The Silence Of The Lamb

The spirit of an evil tongue

Can cut you like a knife

And leave you bleeding to the bone

And fighting for your life

But the Spirit of a righteous tongue

Will help you understand

That there's mercy and forgiveness

In the silence of the Lamb

I was at the point of no return

With nowhere left to go

Until I met my Saviour

How was I to know

That the nails that pierced

His hands and feet

Would help me understand

That there's mercy and forgiveness

In the silence of the Lamb

There's mercy and forgiveness

In the Lamb who did not speak

When He was scorned and ridiculed

He turned the other cheek

And He gave His life so willingly

For those like you and me

When He drank the cup

That we must drink

That day on Calvary

Who am I that God would give

His only Son for me

Had I been there I would have cried

Let's nail Him to that tree

For I'm no different than the rest

Who spurned the Saviour's love

My sins were stained in crimson red

Now they're covered by His blood

There's mercy and forgiveness

In the Lamb who did not speak

When He was scorned and ridiculed

He turned the other cheek

And He gave His life so willingly

For those like you and me

When He drank the cup

That we must drink

That day on Calvary

Now I have been forgiven

For the things I said and done

My sins are on the alter

Of the Father, and His Son

It's by their grace that I am free

And now I understand

That there's mercy and forgiveness

In the silence of the Lamb

There is mercy and forgiveness

In the silence of the lamb

Written by Bruce Moss

To God be the glory

For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: He hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see Him, there is no beauty that we should desire Him. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from Him; He was despised, and we esteemed Him not. He was oppressed, and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth: He is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so He openeth not His mouth.
